Decide what the wall is doing
A fireplace surround, entrance feature, bathroom wall and living-room accent each have a different role. Explain the surrounding materials and the view from which the wall will be seen. A single well-placed stone feature can have more presence than several competing surfaces.
Review the slab arrangement
Large-format stone needs a clear plan for joints, visible cuts and the direction of the pattern. Book matching depends on a suitable slab sequence and the approved arrangement. Discuss the actual material rather than expecting an inspiration image to be reproduced exactly.
Coordinate the technical design

Meet the joinery neatly
Timber panelling, shelving and cabinetry can be designed alongside the stone. Agree the meeting edges, reveal sizes and service access in the drawings. Send a combined enquiry when both trades form part of the feature wall.
